The Opportunity 

  • High growth, privately held, mid size manufacturer of specialty additives for the CASE (coatings, adhesives, sealants and Elastomers) and broader plastics market 
  • Nimble, responsive, service oriented, well-managed company 
  • Manage/grow existing accounts as well as develop new ones, a mix of hunting and farming 
  • Work from home office and travel as needed; location flexible within Midwest/Northeast region: IL, IN, OH, PA, NJ. TX is also an available location.

What You’ll Do 

  • Maintain and develop/expand existing active buying accounts 
  • Work provided leads (both warm and cold) to develop new accounts and gain approvals for Company products; ensure  
  • Travel in person to customers, prospects, trade shows/events and promote Company products and capabilities 
  • Coordinate with Tech Service and Customer Service as needed to ensure customers have full support 
  • Vet/qualify customer inquiries and provide the Business Team with full summary of opportunities, answering the anticipated list of questions (Five Ws) 
  • Make full use of the CRM (Pipedrive) as a sales and business management tool 

 

The Profile 

  • Meaningful experience in additives sales within the coatings and/or plastics industry with proven success expanding accounts and/or landing new business – this is the core requirement 
  • Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred, Chemistry, Polymer Science or related field very helpful; however relevant industry sales experience is #1 
  • Adaptable, entrepreneurial mindset, good prioritization and time management skills – you take ownership and can drive your own activity without needing constant direction 
  • Willingness to set and travel to 5 in-person appointments per week  
  • Very comfortable with typical office software and CRM
