• Report directly to the VP R&D 

What You’llDo

• Formulate 2K urethane coatings for the pleasure craft marine business and related recreational applications:?prepare laboratory coating formulations for project evaluations and complete full product testing.?
• Be the color matching go-to expert for customers looking for custom colors to match their existing brands; travel occasionally to customer sites.
• Support production with batch supervision as needed and to complete new product launches.?
• Learn and understand the fundamentals of the Company’s core technologies, processes and applications; become highly knowledgeable in existing product lines and work at translating customer needs into next-gen products and services that bring quantifiable value.

The Profile

• B.S. Degree in Chemistry, Polymer Science, Biology, Chemical Engineering?or similar
• 2+ years experience formulating 2K urethane coatings specifically including both lab scale work and manufacturing support – THIS IS A MUST HAVE REQUIREMENT
• Proven color matching skills & experience – THIS IS A MUST-HAVE REQUIREMENT
• Practical understanding of coatings application and testing using ASTM standards, ISO standards, and other standards as necessary.
• Hands-on spray application experience
• Adaptable, flexible, and comfortable in a paint manufacturing environment with a “Do what it takes” attitude.
• Resourceful, cheerful, friendly, and collaborative attitude: you’re a hands-on doer who likes to do their own work and experiments, not rely on technicians.
• Local to the Greensboro, NC area or willing to relocate.
