THE OPPORTUNITY
- Stability with backing. An established global brand in commercial building products, part of a multi-billion-dollar, NYSE-listed parent company.
- In-house, with a lean and senior legal team. You work directly with the General Counsel's team and the business leaders who hold the facts.
- Manage disputes and litigation matters from first letter to resolution, with the authority to move them forward. The volume is manageable, so the standard is doing each matter well.
- Resolve disputes before they become lawsuits. Pre-litigation claims work is the heart of the role. Your judgment and follow-through directly shape how matters end.
- A role that carries real weight. This team sees the paralegal as the owner of the matters in their care. You will be trusted, and expected, to act like it.
- Fully remote. The legal department works remotely. You keep Eastern Time business hours wherever you live.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Take in new claims and demand letters, gather the product, warranty, or employment facts, and set up the first conversations with the right business and HR leaders.
- Draft correspondence to counterparties and drive offers and counteroffers toward resolution, handling lower-exposure matters yourself and escalating to counsel with sound judgment.
- When a matter goes to suit, issue litigation holds, lead document collection and production, draft discovery responses, and review pleadings with internal and outside counsel.
- Keep the dispute and litigation databases accurate, track every deadline, and deliver a weekly status report on all open matters.
- Review and interpret contract provisions as matters require.
- Serve as second chair in occasional internal investigations: sharp notes, and the follow-up question the attorney may have missed.
